The School Games Pentathlon is the ideal Personal Best Challenge and a national virtual
competition aimed to connect young people across the Country in a common goal.
The School Games Pentathlon is designed to:
• Support the teaching of key athletic skills
• Encourage reward and celebrate success and individual progress
• Engage whole classes, year groups and schools
• Monitor and encourage improvement in fitness levels
• Enable intra-school, inter-school and virtual competition
We invite schools to sign up to the event which we will be running locally, which will offer both participation and personal best opportunities, as well as some competition for those that wish to. An explanation of the different pathways and all supporting resources will be shared in due course.
The Virtual Pentathlon is made up of 5 events:
Speed bounce, Standing long Jump, Vertical Jump, Chest Push and Shuttle Run
We intend to offer school’s the chance to do the full Pentathlon, or if they prefer, individual events as they see fit. There will be opportunities for children across year 1 to 11 to participate.
Please register to indicate your interest in this event. Please note: Team size has been set at ten, but this is just a holding figure. We encourage whole class participation in the Virtual Pentathlon.
