Year 5/6 ’50:50′ Tag Rugby Festival (Open)

Schools are invited to enter teams into our Tag Rugby Festival.

Squads of 12 players should be selected, with 8 players on the field of play at any one time.  A minimum of two players from both genders must be on the pitch at any one time.  We are promoting the ’50:50′ game time initiative and ask staff to ensure that all players get to play at least half of the available minutes across the festival.  As a festival the games will be played with enjoyment and development as our primary objectives and no formal results will be collated.

Colleagues are asked to carefully consider the pupils selected for this event and should try and include pupils that are new to rugby.  This event would be perfect for pupils considered to be ‘semi-sporty’, or B and C team players.

Colleagues should ensure that their teams are familiar with the rules of tag rugby and have had some prior experience of playing ahead of this event.  Schools are required to bring their own tag rugby belts and are kindly asked to bring a ball for practice.

A full risk assessment and essential information will be shared ahead of the event once registration has closed.
